A Birdhouse Design Contest is being held as part of the “Birds & Bees” event scheduled for Saturday, September 26th. Entries will be displayed during the event and votes will be cast by those attending to determine the top five entries. The winners will be announced at the end of the event- 4:00 PM on September 26. Winners will be given a Callicoon Depot t-shirt in the color of their choosing. The Grand Prize winner will be given a t-shirt and cap.

Winning designs will be installed on the Depot grounds in the spring of 2027 and shall remain in place for the 2027 season.

Winning designs become the property of the CDI to use for publication and/or publicity.

Birds and Bees is a day-long celebration of native plants and local wildlife. Welcoming both community members and first-time visitors, the event highlights the important role that birds, plants, and pollinators play in sustaining the Upper Delaware ecosystem. Guests can also vote on their favorite entry into our birdhouse contest, participate in a nation-wide art project to help protect birds from window strikes, make a seed ball, learn about native bees and pollinator plants, and more!
